SUMMARY

My 20-year career in creative operations and marketing production has given me the privilege of working alongside the industry’s most awarded and talented people. With full-time and consulting experience on both brand and agency sides, working on high-profile brands across continents, the role of harnessing and enhancing creativity through operations & production has continued to be rewarding as the industry and consumers evolve. Thank you to everyone I’ve ever worked with for my career and experience.

My experience as Head of Production (including Creative Services & Marketing Ops) on both Agency and Brand sides has given me a keen understanding of the balance between creative ambition and business needs. Originally from the UK, I have worked at leading companies across Amsterdam, New York & Los Angeles. As a leader and colleague, I support transformative growth in alignment with the company vision, and consciously steer for change management through production and people. When in production, I am recognized for calibre in the creative output whilst maintaining all stakeholders’ interests with logic and empathy. I have experience leading in-house teams for Kate Spade New York (global marketing out of the NY HQ which included the creative studio, project management and production) and dosist (a cannabis tech brand that navigated uncharted business and financial waters across the US), and have also continued to keep close to hands on production with work for award-winning creative agencies and global brands.

I adore precision, yet thrive in the invariably messy hub of production, and I enjoy building systems that support the intangible impact that creative operations can have. There is an invisible tension between time, creativity, and process - a juxtaposition I find rewarding to manage - and strategizing systems (and building teams) that make for long-term impact has kept my career both rewarding and renewed.

EXPERIENCE

Executive PRODUCER/Consultant, LA/NY — 2021-present

  • Consulting & freelance production provides invaluable insight into the similarities and differences of systems & cultures - this career period has both broadened my industry perspective and honed my adaptability with a light touch/big impact approach.

  • I held production roles across agencies in Los Angeles & New York, most consistently (3 years) with Anomaly LA where I’ve worked on photography & print for Starbucks, HOKA, Meta & Expedia. During this time, I also served HoP coverage, creative consulting & EP roles at 72&Sunny, Mother, JKR, Media Monks.

Director of CREATIVE OPERATIONS, dosist, LA — 2018-2021

  • Requiring both a highly responsive yet precise approach to solutions, working in the combined worlds of CPG tech, cannabis, and CBD made for a rewarding role with an ever-evolving learning curve.

  • Reporting to the CMO, I built a creative operations team and workflow systems to support, respond, and scale this cannabis tech brand at a time of key growth, including creating cross-departmental project management. This role supported all aspects of marketing production (DTC brand, physical + online retail, BTB field, and wholesale) as well as product packaging, e-comm & product innovation, all with close C-Suite oversight.

Executive Producer/CONSULTANT, LA/NY — 2017-2018

  • During this period, I built a reputation for bringing agency rigor and execution to consulting for creative operations, working directly with brands such as Johnson & Johnson and Casper, among others, on production solutions and department planning.

DIRECTOR OF INTEGRATED PRODUCTION, 72&SUNNY, LA — 2014-2017

  • Joining 72&Sunny at a time of expansive growth and creative ambition, I was lucky enough to build a new team for Art & Print production. Pitching a department vision & growth plan to leadership, resulting in awarded funding for our department goals.

  • After successfully building a team of seven production specialists and establishing new processes & engagement to support the company’s larger creative ambition through it, I went on to the role of Director of Integrated Production for a niche group of clients - Starbucks, The Olympics Bid, & Tillamook.

DIRECTOR OF MARKETING OPERATIONS, KATE SPADE, NY — 2012-2014

  • This iconic fashion & lifestyle brand offered an opportunity to work alongside an elite cross-industry team with heritage experience from Disney to Vogue. This role was a pivotal career moment, providing me with a strong education in marketing’s role within the larger business system.

  • Reporting to the CMO, I established the creative operations department, hiring & managing the creative studio, project management, and production teams to create global marketing materials across all consumer touchpoints; DTC/B2B collateral, ATL media, visual merchandising, e-commerce, retail, and events (including flagship launches & NYFW). We produced CPG products & packaging, including published coffee table books, and produced all internal company communications.

PRODUCER, W+K, BBH, OTHER — 2001-2012

  • I’ve held full-time positions in production at some of the world’s most creative, awarded, and joyful agencies - learning an international approach to creative work and making some of the best friends the ad world can offer. Weiden+Kennedy Amsterdam (Nike, Coca Cola, EA Sports + more), BBH New York (Sprite, Axe, Westin Hotels + more), Strawberry Frog Amsterdam (Onitsuka Tiger, Mitsubishi, Heineken + more), Quiet Storm London (various). Again, thank you to everyone I’ve ever worked with.
